Job description of Area Sales Manager
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement effective sales and distribution strategies to grow market share and profitability within the assigned territory.
- Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales officers and merchandisers to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Sales Performance Monitoring:
Track and manage sales performance using relevant metrics, taking corrective actions and providing regular reports to senior management.
- Customer & Distributor Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Market Penetration & Growth:
Identify and develop new potential clients and market areas, and introduce new products to the market.
- Inventory & Collections:
Coordinate with logistics and marketing to maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure the timely collection of all outstanding dues.
- Market Feedback:
Provide timely and accurate market information and insights to management to inform strategic decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Leadership & People Management:
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team.
- Sales & Marketing Acumen:
Strong understanding of sales processes, trade execution standards, and promotional plans.
- Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and forecast demand.
- Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team and client interactions.
- Negotiation Skills:
Strong negotiation abilities to close sales and manage customer relationships.
- FMCG/Beverage Experience:
Previous experience of minimum 5 years in a sales or marketing role within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or beverage sector is often required.
Salary Range : 1 M to 1.5 M according to the experience. Incentives will also be provided for those who achieve the fixed targets.
