Job Description

Job Overview: The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring their optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role involves managing the acquisition, maintenance, and operation of vehicles, as well as coordinating scheduling, tracking, and reporting on fleet activities. The Fleet Manager works closely with internal teams to ensure that vehicles are utilized efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Maintenance & Operations: Oversee the regular maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles to ensure they are operating at peak efficiency. Schedule and manage preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and avoid unexpected repairs.

Fleet Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vehicles comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, licensing, and inspections. Maintain accurate records for compliance purposes.

Cost Management: Develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring cost-effective operations. Track fuel usage, repair expenses, and other operational costs to identify areas for potential savings.

Fleet Tracking & Reporting: Use fleet management software to track vehicle usage, route planning, fuel consumption, and overall performance. Provide regular reports to senior management on fleet efficiency and costs.

Driver Management: Supervise and support drivers, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols, follow routes efficiently, and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including vehicle suppliers, repair shops, and service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure service agreements are met.

Qualifications:

Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field (preferred)

Experience of 12+ years in fleet managerial position

Must be an Indian citizen

Strong knowledge of fleet management software and systems

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills

Ability to manage budgets, analyze costs, and optimize fleet operations

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Job Location: Uganda

Salary: $ 2200 per month
