Job Overview

An Executive Restaurant in Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam is looking for an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in menu planning, kitchen management, and delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurants fine dining standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and design innovative menus with seasonal and customer-preferred dishes.

Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meet executive standards.

Train, manage, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high performance.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Tanzania health regulations.

Manage kitchen budgets, inventory, and supplier relationships.

Control portion sizes, reduce waste, and optimize food cost without compromising quality.

Work closely with restaurant management to design promotions and special events.

Requirements & Skills

Proven work experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel.

Strong knowledge of international and local Tanzanian cuisines.

Excellent leadership, time management, and organizational skills.

Creativity in recipe development and menu innovation.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Experience

Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred.

Minimum 3 years of professional cooking experience, including 1 years in a leadership role.
