Sales Executive – Agriculture Commodity Import/Export

Job Description:

As a Sales Executive specializing in Agriculture Commodity Import/Export, you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by developing and maintaining relationships with clients involved in the agricultural sector. Your role will involve understanding the unique needs and challenges of clients in this industry, offering tailored import/export solutions, and effectively communicating the value proposition of our agricultural commodities. You will work closely with internal teams to develop sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis and Prospecting:

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential clients, market trends, and demand for agricultural commodities.
  • Proactively prospect and generate leads through targeted outreach efforts, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in the agriculture sector, including farmers, traders, processors, and distributors.
  • Understand clients’ specific needs, preferences, and purchasing patterns to provide customized import/export solutions.

Product Knowledge and Presentation:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our agricultural commodities, including grains, pulses, oilseeds, and other related products.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that highlight the quality, origin, and value proposition of our agricultural commodities.

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop targeted sales strategies and promotional campaigns for agricultural commodities.
  • Identify opportunities for market expansion and penetration, including new geographic regions and customer segments.

Negotiation and Contract Management:

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to secure profitable deals while ensuring compliance with import/export regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate contract execution and manage documentation processes to facilitate smooth transactions.

Order Processing and Fulfilment:

  • Work closely with internal logistics, procurement, and operations teams to process orders, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of agricultural commodities to clients.
  • Monitor order status and address any issues or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Sales Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Track sales performance metrics, including revenue targets, volume sold, and customer satisfaction levels.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for sales strategy optimization.

Industry Networking and Professional Development:

  • Build a strong professional network within the agriculture industry by attending trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes related to agriculture commodity import/export.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, Agribusiness Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven 3 + years of experience in sales, preferably in the agriculture commodity import/export sector.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural commodities, supply chain dynamics, and international trade practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Salary:

  • The salary ranges from $500 to $600, contingent upon the interview performance and level of experience.
